Alexis Simpson, Therapist Intern
I currently attend North Park University working towards my M.A. in Counseling Psychology. Previously I attended University of Illinois Springfield, where I received my B.A. in Psychology with a major concentration focused in Clinical Psychology; Counseling. I am excited and eager to be a part of Bailey Behavioral Health as a Therapist intern as it is a great environment where I can continue to flourish my skills working in the field of counseling.
My therapeutic style is warm and encouraging to invite awareness for change and in meeting therapeutic and life goals. I have a strong affinity in struggles related to anxiety, depression, and other mood related conditions. I particularly love working with children and adolescents who are facing difficulties in their life as they face the phases of transitions of independence and pressures related to such.
I am a person who has a big heart and am not judgmental under any circumstances. Mental health is something that has a big impact over the mind and body and therefore, being mentally healthy will give you a better perspective on life and approach it with positivity. I love to watch anyone accomplish any goals they set for themselves and how to see how proud they become once those goals are met. I particularly love working with children and adolescents who are facing difficulties in their life.
