Ashley Blosmore, Therapist intern

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Columbia College of Missouri and am currently pursuing a Master in Social Work degree at Aurora University. I have always had a passion for helping others and an interest in social work for many years. I have a special interest in the area of mental health with particular interest in anxiety and depression. I work full time, I am a student, and I have two children. I know what it is like to juggle one’s multiple roles in life and the overwhelming feelings life can have on a person. I believe my own experiences help me to possess an empathetic ear and genuine desire to help others. I believe therapy is a healthy way for people to communicate and release negative thoughts they might be holding on to in a very challenging world. I believe therapy is a joint effort and my objective is to work together to overcome negative thoughts, create meaningful goals, and for clients to reach their full potential. I enjoy therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. I always strive to promote a safe and judgmental free environment in all clinical settings. I understand that therapy is not always easy and it is my goal to make clients feel comfortable and understood.
