Mariah Boushka, Therapist Intern
I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and am passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. My clinical interests include working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma, and I strive to create a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment for healing and growth.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Criminal Justice from Arkansas State University. Following graduation, I worked in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) field at a center for autistic children, where I supported skill development, school readiness, and independence. I currently serve at the Special Education District of Lake County within the Fairhaven program, where I have provided long-term classroom support in a self-contained setting. These experiences have deepened my empathy, strengthened my ability to form meaningful connections, and reinforced my commitment to fostering safe and supportive spaces for growth.
I enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and hope to focus my future work on adolescents and young adults. My goal as a counselor is to assist clients in building skills that empower them to navigate life’s challenges and discover resilience within themselves.
Outside of work, I value time spent with family and friends. I also love traveling, golfing, kayaking, and hiking. During the Covid shutdown, I had the unique opportunity to explore many of Arkansas’s national parks and waterfalls, which furthered my appreciation for nature and adventure.
